Offshore and Coastal Forecast:

Synopsis: Strong southern winds in the coastal waters today as a front from the northwest west drops down into the northwest gulf late this afternoon. The front will exit the south central Louisiana coast during the evening hours. Winds becoming northwest with winds gusting to Gale Force towards midnight. Seas are expected to build to seven to ten feet offshore and three to six feet nearshore waters. Winds will remain elevated through Friday afternoon before diminishing during the evening as high pressure settles in. Winds will continue to relax into the weekend, then veer southeasterly as high pressure shifts off to the east.

Southwest winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Areas of fog late in the morning. Chance of thunderstorms through the day. Chance of showers in the afternoon.

North winds 20 to 25 knots. Seas 4 to 7 feet with occasional seas up to 8 feet. Chance of rain showers in the evening, then slight chance of rain showers after midnight.

Traffic Notice:

-Air Draft Notice Beginning January 15th -
Stakeholders, Please be advised, due to the repairs of I-210 BRIDGE, commencing in January, there will be a recommended maximum Air Draft of 133 ft. for all vessels transiting through the Bridge. Kiewt Construction plans to install a work platform, called a Seaspan, under the present bridge girder, which will reduce the available Air Draft for all vessels. The recommended air draft is based on a 1.8 ft. tide level at NOAA ports gauge located at Bulk terminal No. 1.
